You stand a better chance of making a good impression on prospective buyers/tenants if your home is warm, welcoming and tidy. Here are our top ten tips 1) Take a good look at the front of your property. The best view is from across the road. How does it compare with other properties in the street? Make sure your property has 'KERB APPEAL'. Put up hanging basket to give the property some colour. The front garden should always be tidy and the grass cut 2) Clean the house throughout and make sure carpets are clean 3) Remove clutter and personal items to make the rooms look bigger. Make use of the loft, don't cram it in to a spare bedroom 4) People love naturally light houses. Remove old net curtains to let as much light in as possible. Clean the windows 5) Each room needs a clear function to help buyers/tenants see themselves living there 6) Pets are a big put off. Take them out before viewings and make sure you remove any odours 7) Bedspreads make beds look tidier. Make sure everybody in the house is up and the beds are made 8) Kitchens are a key focal point. Make sure the sides are clean and clutter free. Changing the cupboard handles and door fronts can give your kitchen a complete make over at a fraction of the price 9) Are your next door neighbours as tidy as you, or does their garden have old dumped furniture or overgrown grass? If it does this is the time for some polite friendly negotiation.
